John Reid

John Reid, MSc, is Co-founder, Director, senior shareholder, and COO of Celtic Biotech Ltd, an Irish company developing novel therapeutics and diagnostics for global oncology and anti-inflammatory markets. He has driven the company’s growth through investor fundraising, grant success, and strategic communications, leveraging his background in international cooperation. John has over 20 years of experience in serious and organised crime investigations. At Europol (2012–2021), he rose to senior leadership (AD9) and previously served as Ireland’s Europol Liaison Officer (2007–2012), where he initiated Operations Oakleaf and Shovel, both leading to major international enforcement successes and wide media coverage. Earlier, he served in An Garda Síochána in supervisory, detective, and intelligence roles, with a focus on drug enforcement. His international service includes UNTAC in Cambodia (1993), investigating Khmer Rouge abuses and corruption. He holds an MSc (with distinction) in International Business from Trinity College Dublin and a Diploma in IT from Dublin City University.
