Klaudia Szklarczyk-Smolana is a doctor of medical sciences and a co-founder and CEO of Intelliseq, which provides flexible bioinformatics solutions for human genome data interpretation and reporting. Intelliseq was the only company from CEE region that got to the finals of the international competition for rare diseases diagnosis "Clarity Undiagnosed" organized by the Boston Children Hospital. Klaudia is focused on commercializing genetic diagnostics products in collaboration with scientists, bioinformaticians, designers, product managers, and developers. Skilled in building business models, commercialization strategies, and facilitating the expansion of businesses to new markets. Previously, as a scientist, she has participated in several national and European research grants, funded by institutions such as the National Science Centre, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the European Regional Development Fund. Thanks to her strong skills in science communication and presenting research findings, she was an active member of the nationwide Science Advocates Association (Rzecznicy Nauki). She also collaborated as a lecturer and educational content creator with the Children’s University and a pharmaceutical company. When not working, Klaudia is enjoying Edward Hopper's art, a bowl of spicy curry or chasing after two energetic kids.
